In the Result & Success category, VTB Bank became the best corporate bank, Sberbank of Russia - the best retail bank, the Bank of Moscow - the best deposit bank, and VTB24 - the best mortgage bank. BCS Investment Company was awarded the title of the largest investment company.

An interval mutual fund Small Business of Moscow managed by Aton-Management became the most popular mutual fund, and an open-end equity mutual fund Troika Dialog - Telecommunications managed by Troika Dialog Asset Management - the most profitable one.



OOO Prime Mark Asset Management won the prize in the Investment Strategy category. AvtoVAZbank became the best retail bank in this category, Uniastrum Bank - the best creditor bank to small and medium-size business, and BCF Bank - the best corporate bank. OOO Ursa Capital won the title of the largest investment company. The Performance & Efficiency category was composed of two groups only: Investment Strategy (the winner is IFC Metropol) and Non-State Pension Fund Management Strategy (the winner is a non-state pension fund of the Savings bank).



OAO Svyazinvest was awarded a prize for effective asset management. The team of VTB Capital was declared the best team of analysts. Morgan & Stout was the winner in the Reputation & Trust category.
A new category - The Best Business-Speaker - was instituted this year. The prize will be awarded to owners of financial companies which have become the most prominent persons in the information field of the Russian mass media. Alexander Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Reserve Bank, became the first winner in this category.



"I think the Financial Olympus Award is the main one among all other financial prizes," says Andrei Lapko, Vice President of the Bank of Moscow. "Of course, it's not easy for us to be ranked third in ratings in terms of individuals' deposits, behind Sberbank and VTB. We are fighting for this position under the keenest competition. It's pleasant for us that the efforts we made and the positions we won were appreciated by the experts.

The financial crisis and forecasts for 2010 were the keynote of the ceremony. The comments of the experts and winners suggest a conclusion that the market situation has flattened out, although their forecasts for the future are conservatively optimistic.



Oleg Vyugin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MDM Bank, is sure that the Russian financial market has a very good chance of recovering from the crisis, "We've overcome the period of hardships. We've done it adequately. The infrastructure has proven its reliability." The stock market and real estate are the sectors promising a high return on investments again.
